Trauma is a buzzword right now but one that we cannot overlook when it comes to helping youth in foster care or who have been adopted. We are thrilled to have Ryan and Kayla North join us as we dive into how trauma affects the brain, what parenting tools to use with kids who have experienced trauma, and some household routines to help your home run smoother.
Ryan and Kayla are the co-founders of One Big Happy Home. They work with churches, schools, parents, and child-placing agencies to help them create places where children feel safe, welcome, and loved. They were foster parents for 10 years and adopted 4 of their 6 kids from the foster care system in Texas.
They have served as parent trainers and coaches for more than a decade, helping hundreds of foster families across the country to parent with a more connected approach. They are both TBRI practitioners and are considered trauma experts.
You won’t want to miss our upcoming webinar, Fostering Trauma Awareness as Ryan and Kayla share their expertise with us. They are dynamic speakers who beautifully share their journey and knowledge in a fun and engaging way.
Even if you’ve heard about trauma based parenting many times before, we can alway use a refresher course and glean something new. Plus, I can guarantee you’ll have at least one good laugh with Ryan as a speaker!
