What Is A Family Worth To A Child In Foster Care?
We believe in a family for every child.
When a child is removed from his or her family as a result of abandonment, abuse or neglect, a foster family stands in the gap until the child and family can be reunified.
In Colorado about 35 percent of kids are successfully reunified with their families; 17 percent are not and often seek adoption.1.
We are working to recruit and retain enough foster parents to ensure every Colorado child can count on a safe, supportive place to belong.
- We recruit foster families.
- We recruit foster-adopt families through our I Belong Project in Larimer County.
- We help communities support and retain foster families with our Foster Friendl App .
Urgent Fostering Need
Our most urgent need in Colorado right now is for parents open to fostering:
- Kids age 10+
- Sibling groups
- LGBTQ+ youth
- Kids with special needs
