We know you need continuing education hours to maintain your fostering license. We try to make sure you also get great content and insights to help you foster well for your family and for the kids in your care.
**Always confirm with your licensing agency which courses and providers are acceptable for your CE requirements **
FosterCon is a free webinar series hosted by America’s Kids Belong to offer inspiration and information for current and prospective foster and adoptive parents. You’ll hear from some of today’s leading foster-advocacy voices, including Barry Farmer, Pam Willis, Ryan and Kayla North, Dr John DeGarmo and others. Each qualifying webinar offers 1.5 hours of continuing education credits for licensed foster parents.

Most foster care agencies and counties allow their foster families to watch movies, read books, and listen to podcasts pertaining to foster care for CE credit. You’ll have to check with your certifying agency. (There’s a good chance they’ll have you fill out a form or write about how it helped you.)
Our Resource Library offers books, movies and other resources recommended by our team of seasoned foster and adoptive parents. Check out what’s available and share any other resources you’ve found helpful.

Foster care is managed by state child welfare departments — with a few exceptions where they are county-led. Once you get a basic understanding of foster care and what it takes to be a foster parent you’ll want to get specific by exploring the child welfare resources and requirements where you live.
Your state partners also offer continuing education credits in-person and online.
To help you get started we’ve created a table of resources by state.
