Earlier this year the I Belong Project™ traveled to Memphis, TN for a powerful, hope-filled day we won’t soon forget. What unfolded was more than a film shoot — it was a day filled with belonging, dignity, and possibility.
We’re honored to share the stories of 16 incredible kids in foster care who are waiting to be adopted — kids with humor, curiosity, creativity, resilience, and dreams for their futures. Every child bravely stepped in front of the camera, willing to be seen and to share who they are, in hopes that the right family will see their video and say, “We’ve been waiting for you.”
Thanks to unbelievable hospitality and support from community partners, we were able to create a space where each child felt celebrated, cared for, and welcomed from the moment they walked through the door. A space where laughter was loud, nerves were met with encouragement, and every detail pointed to a single message: You belong. Your story matters. You deserve a family.
An Outpouring of Love and Generosity
A huge thank-you to Collierville First Baptist for going above and beyond in hosting the day. Their team didn’t just open their doors – they created an environment where kids could feel celebrated and seen.
They provided food for kids, coffee for our amazing volunteers, personalized gift bags for each attendee, packs for social workers, activities to engage each child and a beautiful balloon garland to welcome everyone to the space. We’re so appreciative of their partnership and invite you to watch the stories, hopes and dreams of kids filmed that resulted from their incredible hospitality.

It takes a village to create an I Belong Project™ shoot, and we’re incredibly grateful for the creative team that captured these stories. Shout out to our incredible interview team of Russ Turman and Elijah Wilkerson and our wonderful B-roll videographers – Jordan Finney and Cole Waycaster.

Thoughtful Partners Make an Impact
Partnerships make events so special for each child and social worker who joins in the fun. Thank you to the Jockey Being Family Foundation for providing backpacks to every child and Magpies for gifting shirts that made kids feel celebrated and unique!
These generous touches help ensure children don’t just leave with a video, they leave knowing they matter.

A huge thank you to our incredible photographers. They help tell the complete story of the day and capture moments with the upmost dignity. JoLaura Bell and Candace Penn helped kids feel comfortable and confident as they enjoyed activities and took home memorable headshots.
