NOVEMBER IS ADOPTION AWARENESS MONTH
Tennessee Kids Belong works to dramatically improve the experiences and outcomes for kids in foster care. Throughout November we focus our attention on youth in need of permanent, adoptive families. We’ll share a video from the I Belong Project®, amplifying the voices of kids who are waiting to be adopted in our state. We hope their stories inspire you to consider adoption and share videos with others. It only takes one connection to change a child’s story.

START HERE
If you are considering adoption, we encourage you to become a foster parent. 80% of kids adopted from foster care are done so by the families who already are, and have been, their foster parents. While we are not a licensing or child-placement agency, we walk alongside the individuals and couples doing this critical work. To start, we recommend you:
- Review the requirements of foster parents in TN (visit our fostering page)
- Explore our blog posts and FAQs for up to date information
30 DAYS OF HOME
The I Belong Project™ is our signature storytelling initiative that gives kids in foster care who are legally free for adoption the chance to share their voices, hopes, and dreams. Please watch and share our annual montage – you’ll hear fun, powerful and heartbreaking stories from kids who hope to connect with forever families. BECOME A FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE PARENT

While the goal of foster care is reunification, it isn’t always possible. For children who enter “full guardianship” in Tennessee, an adoptive home is needed.
