This summer, the I Belong Project® spent an unforgettable day with Nashville Soccer Club at GEODIS Park, creating space for kids in foster care to simply be themselves, have fun, and share a little of who they are with the families.
For each child, the heart of an I Belong Project day is the same: to create a photo and video profile that goes beyond the facts on a page. Through conversations, portraits, and plenty of candid moments, we get to capture the personalities, interests, talents, hopes, and dreams that make each child uniquely them.
And at GEODIS Park, there were plenty of opportunities for those personalities to shine.
A Day Made Just for Them
From the moment they arrived, kids were welcomed into a day filled with experiences created especially for them.
They explored activity stations, personalized items at the Magpies patch bar, visited the hair and beauty bar, spent time with therapy dogs, and received special gifts to take home. There were backpacks, embroidered details, handmade quilts, pillowcases, shoes and socks, sensory kits, sweet treats, and more.
Of course, being at the home of Nashville SC made the day even more memorable. The kids were joined by Nashville SC ambassador Taylor Washington and Tempo, bringing a little extra soccer magic to the experience. Nashville SC and GEODIS Park also helped make the day possible by providing the venue, lunch, snacks, drinks, and coffee.
