Jaliyah is a Native American child and Native American families will be given preference; however, all home-studied families are being considered at this time. At this time, only families in South Dakota and neighboring states will be considered.
Jaliyah is a vibrant, energetic and creative girl with an array of talents. Her artistic abilities amaze and her athletic talents astound. She won second place in an art contest! If she could listen to the K-Pop band BTS and dance along all day she would.
This young girl’s smile and laughter light up any room. She would love the opportunity to take piano or violin lessons, travel, and learn Mandarin or Korean languages. This social, caring, funny, outgoing and playful girl would love the chance to participate in community activities, be outside, enjoy sports and play games with her new family. Jaliyah is a very bright girl who does well in school. Born in 2010, she is in sixth grade for the 2021-2022 school year. Jaliyah’s teacher shared that she is “always the first one to volunteer to help in the classroom.” She would love pets and has even offered to help take care of them.
Jaliyah would like to have both a mom and dad of any background. She prefers to stay in South Dakota close to her two siblings who are very important to her. A family will need to understand and have experience caring for children impacted by trauma and loss. In addition, the family will need to be willing to participate in therapy with her and facilitate visits with her siblings.
