Meet Carlos & Makayla
Carlos and Makayla are Latinx siblings in foster care in need of an adoptive family. They have a typical big brother-little sister relationship and we are looking for the right family to adopt them and help them thrive and grow together.
Carlos, born in 2009, is a sweet, happy youth. He enjoys Nintendo video games and playing organized sports – especially soccer. He has a positive relationship with his current caregiver and an adult brother who frequents the family home. Carlos is active and involved with his therapeutic support team. At times Carlos can become distracted… for example, a primary struggle for him is balancing his time between schoolwork and Nintendo. He can benefit from a lot of structure and supportive feedback.
Makayla, born in 2011, is a friendly, outgoing child. She demonstrates a lot of leadership qualities in that she takes initiative and can be assertive. Makayla requires a little bit more time to adjust to new situations, so a family with much sensitivity to this need (as well as patience) would be helpful. Makayla has been making tremendous progress with adjusting to change. Makayla enjoys playing by herself and with other children and is learning to share with others.
Carlos and Makayla would benefit in being the only children or having older children in the home with them. If your family is ready to make room for Carlos and Makayla, we want to hear from you!
