We are working to solve 2 of the most urgent obstacles to kids finding safe, loving families:
- Foster Recruitment: There are only half as many licensed foster homes as there are kids in care.
- Foster Retention: When a new family gets licensed, half of them quit in the first year.
1. INCREASE foster and adoptive parent recruitment to ensure a family for every child.
2. IMPROVE foster family retention by equipping Foster Friendly communities to wrap around families to help them foster longer and stronger.
3. ACCELERATE achievement of recruitment and retention goals by leveraging the convening authority of the governor’s office in our states to forge coalitions for change.
